About David Holmes

After ten years working for regional newspapers in the West Country, David took the “corporate shilling” and moved into corporate communications with organisations such as ICI and GlaxoSmithKline.

During this time he travelled extensively and reported from tsunami-stricken areas of Thailand; highlighted the squalid orphanages in Romania following the collapse of the Ceausescu regime, and covered the devastation of the AIDS/HIV epidemic in Africa.

On the lighter side he has experienced the cultural diversity of the world Sumo wrestling championships in Toyko; the Chinese Moon Festival at Guangzhou; and a walk into the Grand Canyon via the north rim.

His love of travel and the great outdoors includes hiking within several national parks in the USA and Canada as well as regular walks or bike rides on the South Downs in the south of England.
